This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine!!

Emergency lights have come a long way!! Back in the old days, they were huge steel boxes containing a large heavy battery with two big lights on top. These boat anchors could weigh a ton, not to mention they looked like a robot and took up a lot of room.

In the last few years they have all become LED. This means smaller batteries and smaller housings. One of the smallest is the Lithonia EU2LM12.

The Lithonia Lighting® EU2L LED Emergency Light is suitable for emergency lighting applications such as stairways and hallways.

Its low profile design with small, unobtrusive dual lamp heads makes the EU2L ideal for safely illuminating the path of egress in small spaces at lower mounting heights.

It can be wall or ceiling mounted and will provide 90 minutes of emergency power in the case of power loss.

FEATURES:

 Test switch and status indicator

UL indoor damp location 50°F to 104°F (10°C to 40°C) listed standard

For use with dual voltage 120/277VAC

Who doesn’t love singing in the shower?

Or just listening to music while taking a relaxing bath? Everyone does!

The problem has always been getting the music into the bathroom. I remember as a kid my parents had a toilet paper holder that had an AM radio built into it. Lithonia has come out with an awesome LED wireless speaker downlight!

The LED Wireless Speaker Downlight provides an easy and efficient way to light up a room and enjoy music for the entire family. Wirelessly stream audio from Bluetooth™ enabled devices and pair up to 8 units together for an enhanced sound experience.

Retrofits into most standard 6″ recessed housings or new construction and remodel applications.

So, don’t forget your microphone soap on a rope (sold separately) and rock in the shower to your favorite tunes!

I wonder, if you put an LED lamp in an EZ-Bake oven, I bet you could go back in time!

5975780The incandescent light bulb, the work horse of lighting since Edison invented it! The power of this invention is a fond memory of mine. When I was a kid, my sister had an EZ-Bake oven! It was amazing to me that a light bulb could make treats. No matter how they turned out, she would always made me eat them.

If you have ever taken out a burning lamp, you know how hot they get. Older houses have porcine sockets with a lamp in the closet. Let’s face it, we fill our closets, and an exposed lamp could make an EZ-bake disaster.

In most cases the fixture must be replaced with a new fixture that has a globe, or, you can simply install the Sylvania ULTRA LED Retro Fit lamp! It’s so simple, take out the existing lamp and screw the ULTRA LED into the socket! BAM!!! You now have a great looking LED fixture with a pull chain.

DUDE! Your lights are awesome!

50_Watt_LED_Retr_558dbcd714238

So you have finally realized your dream. An 8-track, vinyl album, Vegan Yogurt shop! The place is in a very hipster part of town. Unfortunately, the building is old and needs some updating. The walls are no problem, because the tapestries and black light posters will cover them right up.
The lighting is another issue. The place is full of ancient “2 x 4” lay in fixtures. They are from the 1970’s and contain the dreaded “F40CW” lamps. Not only do they eat power, but they are ugly.
Now being the tree hugging hipster that you are, you know there is only one solution. LED! But what will be the easiest and least expensive way to do this?
Litetronics has a great new LED Retro Fit that is easy to install and very cost effective. LED RetroFit is the first fluorescent troffer retrofit that installs in as little as 3 minutes. Powerful rare earth magnets allow LED RetroFit to attach magnetically, allowing hands-free installation. Once installed, LED
RetroFit uses 60% less energy and lasts for up to 20 years. Now, in less than the time needed to change a ballast, you can convert your existing fixture into an energy-saving LED.
• Designed to preserve the look of your fixture
• Installs in minutes
• No need to break into the ceiling plenum
• Universal 120-277V driver
• 85,000-hour rated life
• 7-year manufacture warranty
