Company News: Gordon Knows All Dogs Are Good Dogs
On Sunday April 30th, Gordon Electric Supply had the privilege of awarding a $1,000 donation to the Joliet-based organization, All Herding Breeds Dog Rescue. The donation was part of a semi-annual company program that rewards a peer-nominated employee for their embodiment of the company’s core values: reliability, compassion, teamwork, and resourcefulness. The winner chooses a charity to which Gordon Electric Supply will donate $1,000. The most recent employee honored with the Core Values Award is Crystal Benedict, Lighting Quotations Specialist at Gordon’s Mokena branch, who chose All Herding Breeds Dog Rescue, an all-volunteer organization based out of Joliet, IL dedicated to caring and finding homes for hundreds of herding dogs.
The purpose for the Core Values Award, according to Gordon CEO Cara Gordon Potter, “is to recognize an employee’s exceptional contribution and reward them with the honor of supporting our community with a donation from Gordon to the nonprofit of their choice.” Crystal Benedict was recognized by coworkers for her reliability, teamwork, and resourcefulness. She works with customers, coworkers, and suppliers while meeting deadlines and finding solutions.
The donation was awarded at an adoption event All Herding Breeds Dog Rescue was hosting at the VFW in Lockport, IL. Attendees met with adoption-eligible dogs and had the opportunity to win possible raffle gifts. All proceeds went toward the operations of the organization and care of dogs at the rescue.
After the donation was awarded the Gordon team enjoyed some quality time with these adorable dogs. Thank you to All Herding Breeds Dog Rescue for a fun adoption event and letting us be a part of the day.
