On Wednesday, October 5th, representatives from Gordon Electric Supply awarded a $1,000 donation to the River Valley Animal Rescue in Momence, IL on behalf of a Gordon Employee.
This donation was a part of our semi-annual program that recognizes a peer-nominated employee who embodies the company’s core values: reliability, compassion, teamwork, and resourcefulness. While the semi-annual gathering is an opportunity for continued growth as a company, since March 2020, we also take this time to grow our surrounding communities. The winner of the Core Value Award chooses a charity to which Gordon Electric Supply will donate $1,000. According to Gordon CEO, Cara Gordon Potter, the purpose of this award is “to recognize an employee’s exceptional contribution and reward them with the honor of supporting our community with a donation from Gordon to the nonprofit of their choice.”
The most recent recipient of the Core Value Award from August 2022 is Justin Roberson, the Purchasing Agent at our Kankakee Location. He chose the River Valley Animal Rescue (RVAR) in Momence, IL for its dedication to the furry friends of the community: “I’ve always admired the mission and dedication that RVAR and its volunteers portray,” says Roberson. “I couldn’t be happier to present my Core Value Award donation to them.” Roberson, along with Gordon’s General Manager, Dan Korthauer, visited RVAR in Momence, IL to present the check.
